WICZ |\u00a0Our first action!<\/span><\/h1>\n

The first action of WICZ initiative was a series of interviews of Cypriot women representing diverse backgrounds, fields of expertise, ethnicities and ages. In this first action emphasis was given on women whose stories were related to the Cyprus problem and the reality of living in a conflict zone. The interviews of the 19 women were published and were accompanied by photographic portraits captured by Cypriot photographer Petros Karadjias as well as a short video where they were asked to talk about a man who inspired or supported them.<\/p>\n

This first action concluded in a series of photographic exhibitions islandwide. The\u00a0<\/span>opening night of the exhibition<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>was held on October 19, 2017 at the Home for Cooperation in Nicosia and was inaugurated by Ms Elizabeth Spehar the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Cyprus and Head of UNFICYP. The opening was also attended b the US Ambassador Kathleen Doherty, Swedish Ambassador Anna Olsson Vrang, Portuguese Ambassador Joao Perestrello and many more distinguished friends.<\/p>\n

Our first action has revealed a great interest and support for its continuation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
